Apologies if this has already been posted. (The main-page post on this topic a few days ago didn't have the full 411, it seems.) If this is a re-post, I'll delete it.

Click to the flip for info on the remaining three (Midwestern, Western, and Eastern) regional caucuses for the DNC. (The Southern Caucus has already taken place.)

Can anyone go? (none / 0)

Or do you have to be invited?

Re: Can anyone go? (none / 0)

Not sure, Sam. You should call and ask - and if they say it's not open to the public, tell them you're a registered member of the Democratic Party, and that that should be good enough. If they balk, you should report back here.

Re: Can anyone go? (none / 0)

I'd suggest you just attend, it's going to be much harder telling you no at the door than over the phone.

Re: Can anyone go? (none / 0)

I'm planning on going, but since I have to travel to do so (I'm in DC), I don't want schlep all that way to get turned away at the door - though that would be a story in itself.

they're blocking access (none / 0)

Technically, anyone should be able to go.  It's in the DNC charter that all meetings shall be open to the public, and if you're planning to attend, I suggest you bring a copy.

I called up today to register to attend and they told me because of "space concerns", they may restrict it to a list of people, but they have not yet decided on this.  I'm going to look into this some more and probably write a diary, but this is not encouraging.

Re: Western Caucus (none / 0)

Just to repeat what I posted in another diary comment last week, according to the CA Dem Party office in Sacramento, the Western Caucus in Sacramento on January 22 will be open to the public. (Full disclosure -- my source is the person who answered their main phone number, who had to go ask someone else to get the answer, so I don't have this info from the highest authority. Those traveling in may want to reconfirm before coming.)
